I've already sent my film to Hamburg, Vilo do Conde, Toronto, BC, LA and other fests.  I missed Oberhausen, Archipelago and some others (finished too late).
Does anybody know of any good short film fests that are very politcally minded?   My film is not an industry calling card.  I really love small vibrant fests that have no fear of losing their funding.

You mean Vila do Conde
what's the name of your film?
"In Serbia a lot of people hate me because they want to westernise, not understanding that the western world is bipolar, with very good things and very bad things. Since they don't have experience of the west, they even believe that western shit is pie."

Yeah... Vila....

My favorite local one is the longstanding Dallas Video Festival. They're very open to experimental / low-budget stuff (shot on any format), but they won't play crap...thus, you get all the stuff that is too offbeat to play at Sundance and the like, but none of the home videos that plague smaller festivals. They're also the only festival I know that will actually pay everyone a portion of the proceeds (it's never much, usually not even enough to make back the entry fee, but the fact that they do it at all is awesome). www.dallasvideofest.org is the address, I think.

Instead of starting a new topic, why don't I use a very old one that, maybe, could be used more often??

Anyway, my local film & video fest is in urgent need of submissions.
By the 23rd.
Yes, of Feb.
I realise it's terribly short notice, my friends and I are scrambling to swiftly change this.

Any and all submissions would be great. Tell your friends, Romans, and countrymen about it. The success of this year's fest will determine the likelihood of another next year. So, as unfortunate as it is to say, I don't care about the quality, neccessarily. I don't think those asking for submissions to this fest have that luxury. I only really care about numbers, for now. I'd like to bombard them to the point of asphyxiation and render no choice but to have one next year.

Here's all that I'm supposed to tell you:

Please help, friends and fellow Xixaxers, I kiss your feet!
We often went to the cinema, the screen would light up and we would tremble, but also, increasingly often, Madeleine and I were disappointed. The images had dated, they jittered, and Marilyn Monroe had gotten terribly old. We were sad, this wasn't the film we had dreamed of, this wasn't the total film that we all carried around inside us, this film that we would have wanted to make, or, more secretly, no doubt, that we would have wanted to live.

An UPDATE is plenty o' reason for a double post!!!

We've succeeded in having the deadline pushed back to March 2! Your submissions must be postmarked by the 2nd of March! :bravo:

Please submit to my pleas!!
