have you seen The Man Who Knew Too Little?  or Quick Change?
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Murray has cat's eye on 'Garfield 2'
Source: Hollywood Reporter

Bill Murray is in negotiations to reprise his role as the voice of Garfield in 20th Century Fox's sequel "Garfield 2," while Breckin Meyer and Jennifer Love Hewitt have signed on to return, though Hewitt's role will be greatly reduced because she is filming the upcoming CBS series "Ghost Whisperer." Lucy Davis and Billy Connolly also are entering the fat cat's lair. Davis, who recently joined the cast of the indie "The TV Set," will play animal lover Abby Westminster, a fashionable professional who has been brought in to try and trap Lord Dargis (Connelly) into revealing his evil plans. She is best known for her role on the U.K. version of "The Office." "Garfield 2," which will be directed by Tim Hill, is slated for a summer 2006 release. Fox president of production Hutch Parker and vp production Vanessa Morrison will oversee for the studio.

Murray elects to lead Kenan's 'City'
Walden, Playtone producing DuPrau novel
Source: Variety

Bill Murray will star in "City of Ember," the Walden Media adaptation of the Jeanne DuPrau young adult novel.

Gil Kenan ("Monster House") directs and Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are producing.

Toby Jones ("Infamous") and Saoirse Ronan ("Atonement") also star.

Shooting begins this summer in Belfast and the film will be released Oct. 10, 2008, by 20th Century Fox through the joint marketing venture Fox Walden. John D. Schofield is exec producer.

Caroline Thompson wrote the script about an insular, dark place where the only light comes from street lamps. As the power source begins to fail, two teenagers search for clues that will unlock ancient mysteries about the city but they are thwarted by a corrupt mayor.

Project is one of three recent book adaptations for Playtone. Universal has just scheduled a Christmas Day bow for "Charlie Wilson's War," the drama based on the George Crile nonfiction book. Director Spike Jonze just wrapped an adaptation of the Maurice Sendak kid novel "Where the Wild Things Are" for Warner Bros. and Legendary.

Bill Murray interviewed by GQ here .

According to Bill the reason he did Garfield was because he thought Joel Coen wrote it... but only when he was doing the voice recording did he find out it wasn't the Coen Brother Joel Coen.
