Closing Ceremony Guest List

For the Closing Ceremony of the 56th annual Cannes Film Festival on Saturday evening, numerous guests will be participating in giving out the awards. Among them, we should be seeing singer/songwriter Sting, actress/producer bombshell Elizabeth Hurley and accomplished thespian Isabelle Huppert. Jeanne Moreau and Wim Wenders will also be attending the award ceremony.

Holden Pike

Monica Bellucci (Malena, Irreversable, Tears of the Sun, The Matrix: Reloaded) hosted the closing cermonies.

"Film is a disease. When it infects your bloodstream, it takes over as the number one hormone. It bosses the enzymes, directs the pineal gland, plays Iago to your psyche. As with heroin, the antidote to Film is more Film."
- Frank Capra

So nice. Holden, you found a GREAT pic.
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

up till that point, the movie had failed to interest me on a human level.  when she showed up onscreen, i instantly felt connected to what was going on.  it wasn't the fancy f/x or expanded fight sequences or philosophic mumbo jumbo...  just pure raw onscreen charisma...  (not to mention that she's a bonafide sex symbol...while on the subject, that's some nice wallpaper)

she looks like the bondgirl from the shitty one where the z8 gets sawed in half. or maybe it is her.
