Anchorman 2 Buzz
Straight from the whale's vagina!

The Human Torch may get denied a bank loan again. Will Ferrell has announced his intention to make a sequel to his 2004 TV news spoof, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.

The actor recently spoke about the proposed project while doing press for his next release, Stranger Than Fiction, at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Ferrell even knows what he wants to see happen in the film. "I would love to do a sequel," the actor told The Toronto Star. "I was thinking, all of a sudden, for no reason, he's a European correspondent and has to do foreign languages which he knows nothing about."

And you know he doesn't speak Spanish.

The biggest obstacle in the project's way is time. Ferrell and his filmmaker pal Adam McKay are swamped with a bunch of other projects, namely Step Brothers.

The paper suggests that Ferrell and McKay might be willing to "put (Step Brothers) on the back burner and get going on an Anchorman sequel."

Columbia Pictures, the studio behind Talladega Nights, snapped up Ferrell and McKay's pitch for Step Brothers in August. McKay and Ferrell would write the script for producers Judd Apatow and Jimmy Miller. Filming was reportedly set to begin next summer.

Will Ferrell To Return For 'Anchorman 2′
BY NIKKI FINKE | Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: I've learned the sequel finally came together today. The comedy Anchorman 2 will be produced under mogul Judd Apatow's banner. Adam McKay will direct as well as write the script with Will Ferrell who will star again as Ron Burgundy along with the 2004 original's castmembers Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy had been a DreamWorks production but Paramount took over the project after DreamWorks 2.0 departed the studio. Gee, I used to own the complete set of Anchorman booblehead dolls and finally gave them away because I didn't think they'd ever be worth anything. Dumb, dumb, dumb!

Harrison Ford Signs on for 'Anchorman 2' (Exclusive)
The actor, who is expected to reprise his role as Han Solo in the "Star Wars" sequel, first will play a legendary newscaster in the Will Ferrell starrer.
Source: THR

Before dusting off the Millennium Falcon for a Star Wars sequel, Harrison Ford will sharpen his comedic chops for a role in Paramount's Anchorman 2.

Ford will play a legendary newscaster a la Tom Brokaw in the Adam McKay-helmed comedy, which begins shooting this month in Atlanta. He previously played an anchorman in the film Morning Glory, the 2010 comedy produced by J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk.

The sequel to 2004's Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy stars returnees Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate and David Koechner, as well as a new-to-the-property Kristen Wiig.

Ferrell and McKay wrote the screenplay and are producing the film. Judd Apatow and Kevin Messick also are aboard as producers.

Though plot details on Anchorman 2 are being kept under wraps, the level of secrecy pales compared to the new Star Wars films, for which Ford is expected to reprise his role of Han Solo in some capacity.

Ford has a trio of films in the can: the Jackie Robinson biopic 42, which bows April 12; the Relativity thriller Paranoia; and the franchise hopeful Ender's Game.

 :yabbse-huh:

"Anchorman" is arguably one of the films of the past decade that has benefited the most from replay value.
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Just arguing with this part figuring "these films" includes the first one.

These films aren't designed for sobriety, critical thinking, solitary viewings or replay value.
