Man Man - Six Demon Bag ("Van Helsing Boombox")

Really?  This would definitely be in my top five if not my number one.

I guess if that song is your only pick, I could see how the rest of the album wouldn't jive with you.

Have you seen them live?

Ghostboy

Man, I've bought even less new music than I did last year! I've been catching up on lots of old stuff.

Regardless, even if I'd bought everything, I doubt I'd like anything as much as Joanna Newsom's new record.

I also liked Eraser. And I have the Man Man album, but I haven't really listened to it much yet. I need to go give it some attention.

mogwai - zidane - a 21st century portrait soundtrack

Aside from one or two tracks, I found this album very poor. I hope it works better in the context of the film.

why is that hold steady album ranking soo high on everyone's list?
i heard it when it leaked and it bored me to death.  then i heard it again cos a friend of mine told me , you gotta listen to it glued to the lyrics, so i did that, but it bored me even more.

anyway, i think my top ten is the following:

jarvis- jarvis
subtle - for hero:for fool
tv on the radio - return to cookie mountain
joanna newsom - ys
apples in stereo - new magnetic wonder
sonic youth - rather ripped
cornelius - sensuous
cut chemist - the audience's listening
liars - drum's not dead
mogwai - mr beast

honorable mentions:
the black keys- magic potion
the divine comedy - victory for the comic muse
xiu xiu - the air force
the peeping tom album
pizzicato five we love you
and that orphans album by tom waits , although i haven't listened to it in its entirety,  the parts i've heard sounds like the best collection of leftovers ever. my vote for song of the year goes to 'road to peace'

great great stuff all around. 'cept for the hold steady :)
context, context, context.
