Hey there xixaxers, I play keys and guitar in a band called Mayola. I've been with them for a while but i've been hesitant to tell the board about it because I wasn't too happy with the recordings. But alas we have two new songs roughly mixed and posted on myspace. We just played four wonderful shows in a row in February and we won a Woody Award for People's Choice, best band in Oklahoma 2007 (That's Woody as in Woody Guthrie, not the porn awards.) So take some time listen to these kickass tunes and tell me what you guys think?

Badass, dude.  Seriously, this stuff is really good.
My house, my rules, my coffee

The Perineum Falcon

Once a Fisherman has the great and high honor of being my profile song!
We often went to the cinema, the screen would light up and we would tremble, but also, increasingly often, Madeleine and I were disappointed. The images had dated, they jittered, and Marilyn Monroe had gotten terribly old. We were sad, this wasn't the film we had dreamed of, this wasn't the total film that we all carried around inside us, this film that we would have wanted to make, or, more secretly, no doubt, that we would have wanted to live.

Holy shit really? That's awesome. Thanks a lot guys.

Yo yo yo yo

I'm technically in two bands. I play the keys and guitar for Mayola but I also play several instruments for Mayola's singer's solo stuff. His name is Riley Jantzen and we just recorded a new song. I feel its reminiscent of say...(are you listening mod?) Okkervil River.

It's called "Mother Oh Mother"

please check it out here: www.myspace.com/rileyjantzen and let me know what you guys think!

So more than a year later and our debut EP is officially done. We just received the actual cds in the mail today. Five newly mastered songs are streaming on our myspace (www.myspace.com/mayola) and you can buy our cd on emusic (http://www.emusic.com/artist/Mayola-MP3-Download/12003792.html) and it should be on Itunes and Napster in the next couple of weeks. Take a listen and let me know what you guys think. We'll be touring from Oklahoma through Kansas, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, and California (two days in L.A.) in July and I'll post the dates as soon as they're confirmed.

<-----My av is the album art.
