Any Admin want to give a detailed explanation of all the changes?
cleaner, fresher, and void of any threads started by acjj.
i think we deserve better explanation than that

The first Idle Chatter we designed was quite naturally perfect, it was a work of art, flawless, sublime, a triumph equaled only by its monumental failure. The inevitability of its doom is apparent to us now as a consequence of the imperfection inherent in every human being, thus we redesigned it, based on it's history to more accurately reflect the varying grotesqueries of it's nature.
polls. the problem was polls.
most of the brainstorming comes from idle chatting
best avatar yet, picolas
i think the threads were getting a bit riddiculously pointless...hey, it's idle chatter, but a lot was just unnecessary.

That's what made it good, IMO. People need to vent their ridiculousness somewhere...woould you rather it happened in Now Playing?

that's a fuckin' great attitude.

I think it was putting a big stain on the site as a whole.
Idle Chatter allows for our personalities to show more than any other forum.
Notice that no one's post count went down.
Well, it's back and I'm glad.
A lot of the clutter consisted of the "Ask _________" threads. The only one of those I found interesting was "Ask Gold Trumpet."
I didn't think it was necessary, but it doesn't matter now anyway.

that's the best explanation there is.
Good move, IC was getting out of hand.

why the hell does the location of idle chatter keep changing on the site>?
I pondered that myself.

This board can be described by the word ghey.
I am or was certainly not a frequent poster to the Idle Chatter forum, but nonetheless the completely undemocratic and elitist behaviour of the admins surprises me.
I am aware of the fact that there has to be some "thought police" preserving a minimum of verbal cleanliness on this site, but, for instance, an "official" statement or announcement on behalf of these changes would certainly have been approved.
I know this site is not intended to be democratic, that there are certain people who run this site and those who don't like this policy are not obliged to visit this site anymore, however this autocratic and bullying attitude is somehow annoying.
Not really. I explained its absence in a thread that remained locked but viewable, all the way until the forum was revamped. It was never our intention to remove it completely...in fact, it was originally going to be down only for a matter of hours, but non-messageboard duties got in the way.
Anyway, it's back, so post away.

Well, I am sorry if I haven't seen this thread and complained about the lack of an "official" statement. However, my other complaints remain. Is there any explanation why almost the entire forum had to be deleted? There were some popular threads dear to a lot of users, I would say.
I don't know...I'd call it an ugly solution fo an ugly problem.
i'm sorry, would u like ur money back?

Alot of what chriskelvin said rings true with me as well. And while I like and trust you as an admin, there are others I don't, especially getting rid of Idle Chatter is blatently used as a threat. As SHAFTR said, Idle Chatter is the best forum to express the views that open our personality up to others. It's the best way to get a feeling of the type of person behind the handle.
I do believe your intentions with Idle Chatter were never to remove it completely, but I certainly feel others are taking the "elitist" approach and using it as a threat. As shown by the "Use it... wisely" subtitle on the bottom.

We haven't set any 'rules & regulations' in order since Idle Chatter was brought back, and don't intend to. No one is stopping anyone from creating new threads here and expressing themselves. But, collectively, the admins felt what we did was in order to better the site. As JB pointed out, no post counts dropped, so no threads were deleted. If you'd like an old Idle Chatter thread moved, PM one of us, as GT did.

Sounds reasonable. Maybe there is just some communicational problem between "common users" and admins.

yes it was an ugly problem. however, starting all over was the best and only solution.
idle chatter was flooded w/ what was more or less spam. so many threads of just two or three members giving eachother head. it was dumb.
this is not the main reason though. idle chatter is back. rock on.
Quote from: ©bradthis is not the main reason though.
I dunno why you guys aren't just honest???...sorry, if i am outta line here...but idle chatter was locked cause of me saying something factual about the P-stain (at least that triggered it) that may have made him look bad to others, first it got deleted and then locked completely. Some entire threads were deleted, cause apparently the only shitty things that can be said should be directed my way. And honestly, i don't think the admins knew what was the best solution. Starting over was a good idea. Seriously...it was flooded with shit (i am guilty of it, but not the lone offender, just probably the biggest)...regardless, the admins are not being pricks about it, if you want a thread back, I am sure all you have to do is ask ...as long as you aren't named jj, you should feel free to post whatever you like. it's only been a day...but everyone is walking on eggshells, i can tell. no need to, so knock it off...cause idle chatter rocks!
I don't expect that post to be up long.
Quote from: Walrus, KookookajoobI don't expect that post to be up long.
Your non-expectation will never be met.
can we just idly chat, without targeting each other's weaknesses? Just to cause pain equal to the one we feel...because nothing good will come out of that.

I think the drama caused by the 'idle chatter' temporary removal is worth removing it alone. Arguing over something as ridiculous as this is just plain fun. To watch.

whats the significance of the new title "all filler"
i don't know. it's funny tho. i guess it's saying the forum is not really about anything, which is what filler means. that's my interpretation.

why the NEW NAME!

I think the new title is demeaning. But then I thought whoever wrote it must be an 80's/Breakfast Club fan. Or just insecure. Then, I realized it's funny.

You are underestimating ridiculousness. Best ideas come to mind when you are idly chatting with your friend, or dishwashing.
On this fateful day, aclockworkjj has been banned.
This is an issue we've been dealing with for months. After much introspection, countless admin debates, and private dialogue with aclockworkjj (including warnings), we came to this decision.
His method was to make friends and enemies, attempting to split this place into factions, as did Pantalones before him. He conducted campaigns of ass-kissing (especially toward us admins) while conducting campaigns of personal hatred and corrosive disrespect. We believe he was dragging Xixax down into a place it never should have gone, a place it doesn't want to go.
Everything we held sacred has been victim to perversion by aclockworkjj at one time or another, and we strongly believe Xixax is better without him.
Let me make it clear that this is not some kind of ominous warning. We've done this because we value what we have and don't want to lose it. This decision was not made in spite of other members, but for the sake of other members.
Now it's time to come back together. It starts today.

I just want everyone to know that this place meant a lot to him. I have had several off XIXAX conversations with him and he really liked it here and most everyone here.
I think that you guys handeled it wrong and it should not have come to this.
I dont want to start lashing out so, well i dont know.....................

I can't say I know anything about what's going on so I'll just leave it at that.

Although I did like aclockworkjj, I do see your point. He is on my AOL list so I will continue to talk to him. I obviously didn't agree with everything he posted, and sometimes it did seem like he was trying to start a fight. I'm not angry or am I happy.

I'm with you on this, as in my post up above a few. Like I said, I don't know the situation like you guys or the admins do. He'd be the only one on here besides me at 3 to 4am every night. I'd like to see it rescinded but I have zero clout here.
A portion of this thread posted under a different topic so others will know is a good idea.
