That's probably my favorite song on the album. It's awesome.

Terry Gilliam Directing Arcade Fire Live Broadcast
Source: Cinematical

As Montreal indie band Arcade Fire prepares for their big August 5th concert at Madison Square Garden, they've decided to let fans who don't live in NYC see the show as well. Everyone will be able to check out the complete concert via live stream at youtube.com/arcadefirevevo.

That's interesting news if you're a fan, but this isn't a music site. What ties it back in to Cinematical territory is news that the band has hired noted director and Monty Python member Terry Gilliam to direct the webcast. Gilliam, best known for Brazil and The Adventures of Baron Munchausen will bring his unique visual style to the concert -- something that should get even film fans who aren't Arcade Fire lovers to check out the event.

What might Gilliam -- known for his love of surreal images and wild camera angles -- bring to the show? No one knows at this point. I suspect it will be something unique and interesting that sets this concert apart from all the others we've seen while highlighting the band without upstaging them in the process.

So many legitimate gripes!

If someone had told me 2 or 3 years ago, "hey, arcade fire is going to win a grammy in a few years for 'album of the year," I would have told that person to take his wayfarers and shove'em up their ass to gain some perspective.  Shows how much i know.  But i'm glad it happened.

The fact that they won almost gives me faith.
it's not the wrench, it's the plumber.

I listened to a little of Funeral and Neon Bible. More so when "Where the Wild Things Are" was out. Suburbs is a completely different animal. Every single track is solid. In a day & age where everything popular sounds over-produced, Arcade Fire are a breath of fresh air. Fucking terrific album.

haha, really I mean considering Eminem is up there on my list of my favorite artists, these are similar complaints to what I would've had a few years ago. That's the beauty of this new album though, it turned me on to them in one listen and now I'm an Arcade Fire fan. This wouldn't have happened through word of mouth of my hipster acquaintances. It took my Dad blind buying The Suburbs and saying " Hey, this is supposed to be pretty good " to totally turn my taste around for this band.

Quit these pretentious things and just punch the clock!

(Sometimes I wonder if the world's so small that we can never get away from the sprawl.)

One gem, but it's a damn good one.

if we're just spurting out random lyrics, then:
Hey
Put the cellphone down for a while
In the night there is something wild
Can you hear it breathing?
And hey
Put the laptop down for a while
In the night there is something wild
I feel it, it's leaving me
