Both have more personality than the other characters
Both are killed

You see how it works? Okay!

This could be fun unless mutinyco comes and ruins it.

lolita and nicole kidman is EWS (don't remember characters name)

both attractive women (albeit one being fourteen), who pretty much drive their male interests off the wall with jealousy.

SoNowThen

Bowman & Joker

both mostly ambiguous observers, until the end, whereby they finally choose to take action.

hmm maybe that's no good, 'cause Bowman does way more than Joker...
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

yeah, but all Bowman doesn't do anything that a machine couldn't do, so in that respect he was inactive.

I got another one:

Singin' in the Rain/Heeeeeere's Johnny
Both from wholesome sources
Both subverted by a violent act (rape, murder)
Both were improvised by their respective actors
