buddy holly should of lived, he would of really contributed more to music during the 60's then any of his peers, chuck berry little richard fats domino jerry lee, all of those guys best work were in the 50's , and none of them really did anything relavent in the 60's

but buddy would of just kept on getting great

i just love him so much his melodys his words his everything he was one of the greats


i left elvis off that list, even though his 50's work defines his greatness, its his late 60's stuff i love the most

i really love  " From Elvis In Memphis"

" suspicous minds" came from that time, and that is a fucking masterpeice


musically that era was like this take tom jones and burt bacharach mix them together , and add in the king and well ............ FUCKING GREAT

His voice from that era on to his last few concerts, was the best singing voice ever

damn his voice was so great, i saw footage of one of his last shows and he looked like shit and he was forgetting words, but his voice was strong and as great as it ever has been he never lost that

Had to revive this. I got the Buddy Holly collection recently as it has 50 of his songs spread over 2 CD's. Listening to it straight through, I have concluded that if I couldn't listen to the Beatles as the 'soundtrack of my entire life', I think it'd be either The Stones... or Buddy Holly. I remember several years ago, I listened to "Rave On" over and over about a dozen times and from that point on I was just hooked. I had already heard "Peggy Sue" "Maybe Baby" "Everyday" and a couple more but for some reason, "Rave On" just made me forever leap onto the Buddy bandwagon.
Here's to one of music's greatest legends of all time.
