You know, I'm probably like the only one but I gotta say...I really love these multiple question threads...I wish we could do them weekly, or at least bi weekly...they're great to reply to and read...thanks for making one.

War Film - Apocalypse Now
Crime Film - Goodfellas maybe
Thriller - Raiders of the Lost Ark
Sci Fi Film - Alphaville just for today, I love it
Black and White Film - ummm...how bout Raging Bull again

SoNowThen...I love the mention of Casino man, it's underrated as can be...Bogart too, gotta love him. I don't know if I ever really liked Jimmy Stewart, hate to say it...you really have to like his voice to like him and I don't know if I do. I know I'd probably get raped for saying all this but I'm being honest. I don't hate him either, I definitely don't hate him. I've only seen two of his films after all.

John Turturro Performance: The Man Who Wasn't There

Um, John Turturro wasn't in that...I don't think. Are you thinking of Tony Shalhoub maybe? The lawyer guy? He kinda reminds me of Turturro.

chainsmoking insomniac

It was Shaloub.  But I could definitely see Turturro playing that role too....

the title of this thread is misleading. i find it to be "a big movie query".
Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

Yup.  I find it hard to believe.  At just about any video store, you will find a copy of "Ran" somewhere in the FOREIGN or DRAMA section.

Quote from: sextarossaJohn Sayles Film: sorry, but who?
This makes me even angrier.  I know for a fact that you can find "Lone Star" or "Sunshine State" in your video store.  They're there.  I swear it.

And also, guys, John Sayles isn't one of the Maysles' brothers.
