I was watching Animal House tonight on AMC and they are showing the version with movie captions at the bottom. There is a moment where Donald Sutherland is a teacher. Apparently he owed the director a favor to appear in the film. He was offered $20,000 for two days work. He demanded $25,000. They offered him a cut of the box office receipts instead. He stood firm and eventually got his $25,000.

Had he taken the box office cut he would have made millions according to the deal he was offered.
