I'm probably as ignorant about this topic here as most of you are about Argentinean movies, but this is one of my favorite Norwegian movies that has stuck with me for a long time.

Thanks for reminding me about Metalhead!

Here are some things.

Out of Nature by Ole Gievær. Beautiful Norwegian film from beautiful people.

This is the trailer for a another really really beautiful and interesting doc-fiction hybrid from Norwegian filmmaker Mariken Halle.

This is a fantastic Swedish short about a girl who suddenly finds herself part of a radical movement. It's based on real-life interviews that are illustrated by fantastic animation.

"Tussilago" (dir. Jonas Odell)

please someone tell me when it's out, when it has a trailer. excited. new one from dagur kári

also, imdb recommended this to me and that's a solid photo and just withnail provided the trailer one post up, nice

Out of Nature
"A journey inside Martin's head. He's on a weekend mountain trip, and we get to know his thoughts. Unsensored, essential, existential and silly about feelings and fantasies. A recognizable flim about being human, and how we tick and tink."
Directors: Ole Giæver, Marte Vold

everyone need to see this. seriously.

so at first, she actually made half of the film based on that "what if?" scenario in the trailer and then she confronted her former classmates and showed them the film irl and based the second half of the film on these meetings. it's really interesting.

Hey, let's pretend this is "nordic movies" so we can include Finnish and Icelandic ones as well.

Cause Iceland is on fire:

Robyn

Reindeerspotting - a documentary about heroin addicts in cold, cold Finland. I'm not sure i recommend you to watch it, but if you do, it will surely make you feel like shit:

And then you have Aki Kaurismäki of course, and that's how far my knowledge on Finnish film goes

^ Winter Brothers looks amazing, I hope it eventually gets an English-friendly release. And I'll definitely be watching Reindeerspotting. Can't wait to feel like shit.

Robyn

Sweden's Oscars contribution. Might deserve its own thread.
