I forgot what was revealed as his actual birthday in the Sharon Waxman book, since it says on IMDB that today is his birthday.

That's weird...I always thought it was January 1st. Now they've changed it on IMDB.

I'm not sure if the birthdate controversy has ever been adequately settled, but in all likelihood, today is PTA's 36th birthday.

Just a little sidenote, for you trivia fans out there: at this age, Robert Altman had already directed 427 films.

So pick up the pace, Paully!  You've got some serious catching up to do.

actually at 36 altman hadn't done anything of real importance yet. unless you count episodes of Bonanza and Alfred Hithcock Presents. it was still another 9 years before MASH, so at this rate pta is already beating altman on the masterpiece count.
