If you go by the notion that a projection of character and personality in Presidential candidate is what attracts votes (and not philosophy or policies or governmental administrative know-how), this un-aired Spike Jonze video of Al Gore sitting around and being himself (mostly in the company of his family) during the 2000 election would have elected him hands down if...a big "if"...this video had been shown all over the place and everyone had taken the five or six minutes to watch it.

so why didn't it get seen? feels like it could've had a third part. best presidential daughters ever, spike's focus on them in a way is probably cos they were demographically closer to him but it's also indicative of how progressive al gore is. by now this is well known, al gore has personality, bush does not. was it controversial at the time? all i remember is him being depicted as boring -- maybe i'm thinking too far back to bob dole. spike shows an interesting man surrounded by an interesting family. tipper goes barefoot -- of course he could never win.
under the paving stones.
