Emily Haines - Reading In Bed

I heard on the radio (with an added verse that you might recognize) and fell in love with the song.

Yes, I realized we don't really have a thread for individual song advocacy, so this is probably a good place to start some of that. Rare, overlooked, or undercelebrated tracks would be best. If you're listening to a particular album and want to talk about that, go here. This is a thread for songs.

And no, links to songs are not necessary. Names are all we need. I just happened to be obsessive enough about this song to find this radio version (which I ripped from this).

What a great thread idea ! Very nice song too

Strangely I am listening a lot to Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus these days   :ponder:  probably because of this

Yea, some Emily Haines (of Metric) love!

I just discovered that this song has the highest play count on my iPod:

Mates of State - "Lullaby Haze"

There's a good reason. I can remember I was playing it repeatedly the week I discovered that album. Not only is it a musical masterpiece, it's addictive. Some moments in the song give me chills, like 1:43, with the rolling drums and piano, and the "oo-hoo" vocals, all very beautiful, evocative, and somehow perfect.

Note: Though it seems like a quiet song, it should be played loud.
