haha sorry.  what i meant to say "i wonder if the gun falling from the sky at the end of the movie is connected to Dixon."  i thought i read that somewhere along time ago.

in that case, yeah sort of. in the shooting script during the closing "So Now Then" epilogue..

EXT. MAGNOLIA - DAWN

Worm's car drives down the street. LONG LENS.  ANGLE, at the car,
Dixon leans up and out the window a bit....he's got the gun wrapped
in newspaper, taking the fingerprints from the gun....he throws
the POLICE ISSUED WEAPON from the speeding car...

(then a short time later is the bit we see, Jim Kurring and Donnie talking "i really do hav love to give" etc..)

CAMERA holds the 2-shot on them, BEAT, THEN:  The Police Issued
Revolver FALLS FROM THE SKY AND LANDS ABOUT fifteen feet in front
of them.  Jim Kurring and Donnie look.  HOLD. CU - Jim Kurring.

i assume the revolver dixon threw in the cut scene is sposed to be the one landing a couple scenes later in this epilogue.
under the paving stones.
