JUDE LAW SET TO PLAY BOWIE

British acting hunk JUDE LAW is set to play rock legend DAVID BOWIE, in a new movie about his life.

Law met Bowie backstage at the singer's REALITY concert at New York's Madison Square Garden last week, where the two both expressed an interest in the project.

A Source close to Bowie says, "There's just so much material for a film and Jude could play him perfectly."

Bowie's spokesman refused to confirm plans, but teased, "They are very good friends and David always has lots of ideas for new projects."

Jude Law is very talented and extremely suave and good-looking in that English way; I was most impressed by his Perdition performance, as it went furthest against his typecast (whereas Ripley probably went closest to it). I'm seeing Cold Mountain tomorrow, not least for his presence...

Law has a very impressive list of upcoming films. He's remaking "Alfie" in the title role. He's playing Errol Flynn in "The Aviator". He's the star of David O. Russell's new comedy "I Heart Huckabee's". He plays the title role of "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" alongside Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep (Luis Guzman too!). He's also got some intriguing romances coming up too.
Oh, and I loved him in A.I. too.

Yeah, great interview. Taped it. Coming from a hetero-guy, Jude Law would probably be the only dude to make me switch teams.

You are so not the only straight guy I know of who feels that way about the hunka burnin' love that is Jude Law.

That Actor's Studio is always featuring people who will do that. I saw Naomi Watts today, who is among my own select group of celebrity team-switch inspirations. She's physically very relaxed and confident and charming- not to mention beautiful- which seem like such erotic qualities to me.

I like him and think he can be very good with roles, but I'm waiting for him to move on to some really important roles. A.I. and Road to Perdition saw him in roles that were relegated to little importance or objective. He plays Edmund in Cold Mountain to fine acting, but the writing of his role hardly goes anywhere beyond the typical romance novel hero so he explores very little. I think him playing David Bowie could finally be that bigger step I am talking about him taking.

O'Connor's Signs of DEXTERITY
Jude Law attached to star in the Karen Croner drama that has been in development of over 12 years.

After 12 years in development, Paramount Pictures' drama Dexterity is coming together. The studio has attached Gavin O'Connor to direct Jude Law in the film, which will likely get underway next May. O'Connor's brother and Solaris producing partner, Greg O'Connor, will produce the film with Law and his producing partner Tom Sternberg.

From a script by Karen Croner, Dexterity centers on the struggles of a blue-collar factory town facing the hardships of lay-offs and unemployment. Law stars as Ed King, a small-town factory worker in New York who falls for one of his female co-workers. King soon hits hard times, however, as the factory shuts down virtually destroying the town.

The drama had originally been developed as a starring and directing vehicle for Timothy Hutton. Over the years several stars have been attached, including Matthew McConaughey, Jason Patric, Bridget Fonda and Ashley Judd. Pamela Abdy will now oversee the project for the studio.

Law's currently starring in Paramount's Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow and has two more studio pics on his docket: Alfie and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Law earned an Oscar nomination this year for his work in Cold Mountain and earned one in 2000 for his role in The Talented Mr. Ripley.

BREAKING the Law

Oscar-nominated actor Jude Law has started advanced negotiations to star in the Anthony Minghella-helmed drama Breaking and Entering for Miramax Films. The project is currently scheduled to begin shooting in April, marking the first time Minghella has directed his own script since his feature debut, Truly Madly Deeply, in 1991.

In the film, Law would star as Will, a British architect whose personal and professional lives are spinning out of control. After meeting a young immigrant thief, Will is forced to reevaluate his situation.

Law's two Oscar nominations came for work in Minghella films: The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain.

Law Apologizes to Fiancee for Affair

Jude Law publicly apologized to his fiancee, actress Sienna Miller, expressing his "sincere regret" over an affair with one of his children's nanny.

"Following the reports in today's papers, I just want to say I am deeply ashamed and upset that I've hurt Sienna and the people most close to us," the 32-year-old actor said in a statement Monday to the British Press Association.

"I want to publicly apologize to Sienna and our respective families for the pain that I have caused," said Law, star of "Alfie" and "The Talented Mr. Ripley" films.

The publicity firm that represents Miller told The Associated Press the 23-year-old actress had no comment on Law's statement.

Miller was Law's co-star in the remake of "Alfie." The couple became engaged on Christmas Day 2004.

The nanny was identified as Daisy Wright, 26.

Law divorced fashion designer-actress Sadie Frost in October 2003 after a six-year marriage and three children.

how could you cheat on her, really?

Just cause she looks good doesn't mean she can't be cheated on. Maybe she was a bore in the sack and wouldn't let Jude do the things he really wanted to. Nannys typically do those nasty things.

I wonder how she found out. That would be hilarious if she caught them having sex while watching one of his movies. Like she walks into the house and hears loud noise coming from the bedroom and she enters and sees Jude with the Nanny bent over and they're watching music from another room. And also, shes drunk. Jude Law strikes me as the type of dude who would bang the Nanny while watching one of his movies.

I read that she found out after one of Jude's kids walked in on him with the nanny and then told Jude's ex-wife, Sadie Frost (what's she been doing lately, anyhow?), who totally called him on it.  No word on whether "The Talented Mister Ripley" was in the DVD player at the time.

And seriously... Sienna Miller.  You just don't cheat on that.  Come on, dude.

The funniest thing about this is the "public aplogy" i mean, that's hilarious. Was his wife really like "CLEAR MY NAME!!!" and then he did it. He did it with a Nanny too, thats hilarious too. Then he apologized...publicly....it's just all hilarious. Fucking hollywood.
