Well? Are ye guys attending any gigs this summer? I'm going to see Mogwai not once but twice this summer. First in Copenhagen where I probably will bump into Sigur Rós and his posse. And the second time is on a festival called Accelerator (in Sweden). They will be sharing the bill with acts like Interpol and Kings of Leon. This summer will be golden.

Coldplay in a week.

They better play Amsterdam.
Those who say that the totalitarian state of the Soviet Union was not "real" Marxism also cannot admit that one simple feature of Marxism makes totalitarianism necessary:  the rejection of civil society. Since civil society is the sphere of private activity, its abolition and replacement by political society means that nothing private remains. That is already the essence of totalitarianism; and the moralistic practice of the trendy Left, which regards everything as political and sometimes reveals its hostility to free speech, does nothing to contradict this implication.

When those who hated capital and consumption (and Jews) in the 20th century murdered some hundred million people, and the poster children for the struggle against international capitalism and America are now fanatical Islamic terrorists, this puts recent enthusiasts in an awkward position. Most of them are too dense and shameless to appreciate it, and far too many are taken in by the moralistic and paternalistic rhetoric of the Left.

Radiohead may be coming to Montreal in August. Other than that, nothing much else coming to Ottawa. Will probably see REM in September in Toronto.
At wave level, everything exists as a contradiction. Everything is existing in more than one stage/place at any given moment. Everything must move/vibrate and constantly change to exist. Everything, including buildings, mountains, oceans and thoughts.

What/who exatly are the String Cheese Incident. 'Cause I worked at a hotel last year, this band was in town, and our place literally FLOODED with hippies. It was like a Dead-head thing, they followed them everywhere. And I mean at least half the hotel was there to see the concert. Mostly cool people, too. Pretty laid back.

However, hippies nonetheless. Cartman would not approve.

It's a jam-band like Phish,Widespread Panic, Greatfull Dead. I think they are great live.

European Son

The only thing set in stone is that I'm seeing the Chili Peppers and Lollapalooza. But I expect to see the Dismemberment Plan on their farewell tour as well.

I saw the Chili Peppers with Queens of the Stone Age a few weeks back.  Pretty good show, overall.

Snoop Dog and The Mars Volta are going to open the show I'm seeing. But that's ok because I'm seeing Queens at Lolla.
