To begin. To begin. How to start.
I'm hungry. I should get coffee.
Coffee would help me think. But
I should write something first.
Then reward myself with a coffee.
Coffee and a muffin. Okay, so I
need to establish the themes.
(pause)
Maybe banana nut. That's a good
muffin.

I'm a casual Zappa fan. The guy was a genius.

My favorites are definitely Joe's Garage and Sheik Yerbouti. Joe's Garage stands above the rest, though.

It's really hard to say because so much of his stuff is so great. I think he only waned in his later days when he got into the porn rock politics junk. Mid to late 70's was my favorite era of his.

Frank Zappa's "Watermelon in the Eastern Hay" was used in "Y Tu Mama Tambien". It was used brilliantly in that film and the song is just great to listen to. It's so beautiful and haunting.

I love that track so much.

I love how it's both a homage to and a parody of Pink Floyd (and David Gilmour's psych solos in particular—"last imaginary guitar solo" and all that).
