I hope in 20 years PTA is something we here cant imagine.

It's not too big, it's a perfectly normal sized Arab
although I'm sure it can be supersized, like onion rings
Quote from: Duck SauceI hope in 20 years PTA is something we here cant imagine.
Exactly what I hope....couldn't possibly have said it better. Let me just add a word though if I could...I hope PTA is something
good we here can't imagine.
I think you see where I'm coming from. I'm all for not knowing what to expect...I just want to elimate any negatives.
I really can see him being the Scorcese/Kubrick of the future. When all these great films that he's made/gonna make pile up, he'll become a WIDELY KNOWN cinema legend (as he should be right now.....).
Quote from: MrBurgerKingsorry for posting again, but I'm too lazy to hit the edit button.. funny story -- I was at the drive through and I told the guy I want no onions on the burger but I wanted onion rings instead of fries.. The guy was confused and it took me five minutes to explain it to him. When he finally understood, he laughed at me as if I were crazy. I explained to him that onions on a burger do not appeal to me, but deep fried onions appeal to me because I am overweight and need to clog up my arteries even moreso than they already are.
:yabbse-thumbup: I love this guy 8)
Quote from: MrBurgerKingIt's not too big, it's a perfectly normal sized Arab
I wanted to keep it up until someone asked who it was.
It's King Faisal, who Britain appointed to rule over Iraq in the early 1900s (he was from Saudi-Arabia).
Nobody asked you because everyone already knows that
PTA will have died in a tragic accident in 20 years :(
Good.
Since I plan to be run over in 10..!!
Quote from: Sigur Rós"Hey, resize your avatar!"
it was originally 'pta says resize your avatar' after so many people had enormous avatars
hell be like "everyone, there is a magnolia 25th edition dvd in the works with commentary by kevin smith"
and then everyone will complain about the cover

Yeah, I actually know about this guy. We talked about him at school the other day. The Britains promised him so much but gave him so little. Poor fella''!

go right ahead ma man
I dont really know what PTA will be like. I think i'll just quote a very old and wise man. He said:
"a dirty dirty old man. " - Butterscotch Jones 2003
Hey, guess what PTA fans? The MAN HIMSELF wrote back to me today. Just thought I'd share that with you.
uh... what did he say?
It was just a sheet of white paper and he wrote in RED MARKER. It simply said:
Richard,
Thanks for your letter--except I think you're the best filmmaker.
P.T. Anderson
'You're' was underlined and the A in Anderson was like a small 'a' but capitalised if ye know what I mean. This seems a little sad but I'm just really happy that one of my favorite filmmakers wrote back to me. So did Tarantino actually, about a year ago. Took him 2 years--took PTA only about 3 months.

"I'm whiz kid PTA. I made Magnolia, man. You know? Boogie Nights? All I need is corrective oral surgery and they'll give me another movie. You'll see. They'll all love me again."
PTA will be like Scorsese - continuing to make great movies, but still no Oscar.
in 20 years pta will be like.. old.
Quote from: Pin 20 years pta will be like.. old.
And so will u. Then you'll know just how sexy Guzman isn't.Here's a little thing:
"Robert Altman vs. PTA:
For my money, Altman is the quintessential American director of the 1970s, creating in his movies a panorama of American society and its enduring myths, the latter enthusiastically punctured time and again in movies like The Long Goodbye, McCabe and Mrs Miller and Thieves Like Us. Chuffing spliffs endlessly on set, boozing it up, getting snitty with all of his writers and all of his producers, Altman seemed to be on some sort of career suicide mission, and the result was great, enduring art, a teeming, Breugelesque vision of the times, populated by his revolving repertory company and marked by his distinctive use of overlapping sound.
Paul Thomas Anderson is probably the most prodigiously gifted and joyful maker of pure cinema to emerge in the 1990s, with the possible exception of David Fincher, whose projects, except for Fight Club, lack Anderson's humanity and conviction. Anderson is half Scorsese, in love with technique and especially the mobile camera, and half Altman, dedicated to his superb regular actors like Philip Seymour Hoffman, John C. Reilly, Luis Guzman and Julianne Moore. Boogie Nights and Magnolia have the same sprawling casts and huge ambition as Altman movies like Short Cuts and Nashville and although he lacks Altman's penetrating cynicism and improvisatory genius, he inarguably has more heart and soul. Better soundtracks too." - John Patterson.
Same old comparison, but will heart and soul fare any better than penetrating cynicism? I don't think so. Which means eventually PTA will be adopted by the British Press and co-opted into the European film industry.
