Anybody have any suggestion or experience on shooting day for night on DV? Is that even possible?  Is it better to try in post?

Thanks all.
Gorobei Katayama: You're Good.
Heihachi Hayashida: Yeah, yeah. But I'm better at killing enemies.
Gorobei Katayama: Killed many?
Heihachi Hayashida: Well - It's impossible to kill 'em all, so I ususally run away.
Gorobei Katayama: A splendid principle!
Heihachi Hayashida: Thank you.

it's pretty hard, mostly because of the lighting.  even if you got the sky to look dark navy blue or have the light level down, sometimes you'll have a dull light reflection on someone's face that just wouldn't happen at nighttime.  some filmmakers use certain lenses or time the colours in post to change it (evident in some scenes in the mummy, but you can still see those sun reflections on their sweaty faces)

in short, it's pretty hard, but you might be able to pull it off.  maybe.

Ask Ghostboy about filming night in the daytime. There's a great story about it on his website!
