Cinephile likes subversive television comedy.
SNT likes jazz.
I'm playing Darryl Hannah's big entrance in Kill Bill, Vol. 1
over and over again. It totally rocks, and I don't just throw that word around. The camp nurse-disguise eyepatch accessory is the perfect little flourish for it, too. It's a very De Palma moment- funny and overblown and stylish and rapturously fake/choreographed and oh-so-cinematic. Best part of the movie, I think.
It sort of supports my concept that Kill Bill
, expert and passionately artificial as they are, are movies of great moments, "coolness" and not much else...
