Recently, as in the past several months, two very early demos of MM work have surfaced: "Tube Fruit, All Chocolate and Smiles" and "Uncle Bunny Faces". I have them both, or you can find them via torrents. They are surprisingly decent for early work. Not as good as Sad Sappy Sucker (though I happen to be just as fond of that one as all their other work), but still possessing merit. Tube Fruit is sprawling, almost filling a whole CD at 1:16 minutes runtime. I've only listened to it once a few months ago, so I don't remember much. Uncle Bunny Smiles is better, and only about 20 minutes. Really reminiscent of what they'd go on to do with Long Drive, and for good reason (though Tube Fruit does have those touches and references, too). Noteworthy tracks on UBS: South of Heaven, Blue Wave, and I Ain't Playin' No Tundra. On Tube Fruit: I marked Go On Out... and Novicain [sic] as decent. Who knows what subsequent listens will reveal.
