Source (of bullshit): Bloody Disgusting

This is quite possibly the biggest news we've ever reported in the history of Bloody-Disgusting. We learned from a well-trusted insider that the brilliant Paul Thomas Anderson - who is looking like a solid contender for an Oscar with his astounding film There Will Be Blood - is seriously contemplating making his next project a HORROR film. As of right now the project is just a thought that has yet to be put down on paper, but hopefully in the next few months or so a decision will be made. Spread the word and let him know you want to see it! Anderson has directed such classics as Boogie Nights and Magnolia. B-D will be rooting for Anderson as this year's Academy Awards (assuming they happen).

Christopher Nolan's directive was clear to everyone in the cast and crew: Use CGI only as a last resort.

It makes sense on a basic level. PTA is continuing his investigation of visuals and sound and understands that horror movies can stand as one of the best genres to investigate that. He has a better chance to make a visual opus in this genre than most others. I doubt it would be Grindhouse like. I imagine silent and 70s horror would come more into play for inspiration. I don't believe this rumor as more than a fleeting thought by PTA, but his ambition could be like Kubrick's was when he made The Shining.

cron

didn't he say something about really wanting to make a horror movie in an interview around the pre -twbb days?
