Patton, Oliver Stone and Nixon

On a DVD edition of "Patton", I saw an interview with Oliver Stone who said that Nixon decided to bombard Cambodia during the Vietnam war right after he had seen the film. Apparently, "Patton" had some kind of an influence on him.
History tells us that the massacres of the Khmers rouges were an indirect consequence of this bombardment. Can anyone confirm Stone's statement? (He's not the kind of man I would trust in this case.)
